Tehuelche Trail

Cross the entire width of Chile on horseback!

Go in search of wild horse herds...
Ride along the path of Patagonia legends...
Reach the parting of waters, the South American Continental Divide...

The Tehuelche Trail is an epic horseback riding adventure
travelling along beautiful beaches, through deep forests, over impressive mountains and across great pampas. Your ultimate destination will be the Sierra Baguales Mountains, which form a natural border between Chile and Argentina, as they cut across the landscape with jagged, mysterious peaks and spires.
The Sierra Baguales is place of great importance, both historically and anthropologically. Theories claim that the first humans to reach the Straight of Magellan, traveled through South America, and across the Sierra Baguales. They found refuge in the mountains, and made the area their home, leaving many artifacts and stories in their wake.
Many of the horses that you will be riding, once ran wild in these mountains, before they were rounded up and tamed. You will find there is no better mount than a mountain horse, while riding in search of wild horses.
