Give one of our Daily Horseback Rides a try, and discover the beautiful views of Puerto Natales from the coast of Last Hope Sound, or enjoy the privelaged views of Torres del Paine, while riding on Estancia Laguna Amarga.
These rides are appropriate for first time riders, and experienced horsepeople.

Puerto Natales   

2 Hour Horse Ride

Enjoy a relaxed horse ride on our well trained Criollo horses,  through a field of wildflowers, overlooking Puerto Natales and Last Hope Sound. Excellent views of Puerto Bories, Glacier Balmaceda and neighbooring estancias.
You may spot different bird species such as Medowlarks, owls, hawks, eagles and Patagonian Swallows. Depeding on the time of season, you may see a family of grey foxes who raise their young in the protection of the tall grasses, or herds of horses of every breed and color.

Departing from a semi-rural area, you may catch a glimpse of how the peoples who inhabit this region of Patagonia live, before entering a private estancia which stretches along the coast of Last Hope Sound. Enjoy beautiful views of Puerto Bories, Puerto Natales, Balmaceda Glacier, and Last Hope Sound. You will ride directly down to the ocean, and get an up close view of the Black Necked Swans and Coscoroban Swans, as well as Magellanic Oyster Catcher´s, with their bright orange beaks. Depending on the fluctuations in tide, it is not uncommon to spot the Chilean Flamingo in the calm waters near a small penninsula.

Feel fresh ocean breezes, as you ride along the colorful coast of Last Hope Sound. You may spot Eagles, Hawks, Flamingos, Black Necked Swans and occasionally condor as your guide relates to you the natural and human history of the area.
After several hours of riding, you will reach Las Liles Cliff, a spectacular lookout point, hovering over the ocean, to relax, stretch and discover the contents of your box lunch! Guanaco island is directly across the sound, and from here you can see the jagged shapes of the Cuernos, in the Torres del Paine National Park. 
You may even cross paths with the gauchos who work on the ranch, and are busy maintaining fences, rounding up and branding cattle and training new horses.

Transfer to Estancia Laguna Amarga is arranged by public bus, departing from Puerto Natales at 0730am. The return bus departs from the Park entrance (Laguna Amarga) at 1400 and 2100.

Photo opportunities abound while riding  on the incredible Estancia Laguna Amarga, on the border of Torres del Paine National Park. Enjoy an up-close view of the Chilean Flamingo that inhabit Bitter Lagoon and the Andean Condor, as you marvel at the views of the Towers. The ride starts out by reaching a lookout point high above the estancia, from which you can gaze down at the snaking rivers, topaz lakes and awe inpiring peaks of the Torres del Paine.
For those not interested in mountainside riding, you may venture around Laguna Amarga (Bitter Lagoon), which is the only saltwater lake in the region. The salt that accumulates along the black sand beaches of the lake, gives the surreal impression of snow in summer. You will return to the estancia house by way of a small lookout, standing adjascent to the Towers.

Discover the beauty and immensity of Torres del Paine, without fighting the crowds, on this adventurous, full day horse ride. Enjoy priveleged views of the Park, as you visit a private, high mountain lake, and ancient cave paintings. Ride among guanacos, nandu, condor and other flora and fauna that make the estancia their home. Learn about the natural and anthropologcal history of the area as you follow the trail of the first pioneers, through Patagonia. 
You do not need to be an experienced horseperson to enjoy this ride, though if capable, you may delight in a gallop across grassy meadows. Depending on the season, there is the possibility of encountering Springs first born, as oftentimes we catch the birth of a baby gauanaco, or find a large nest with ñandu eggs!
