About Us
Why travel with us?
Being Local
Our company is locally owned and operated and we are the unique partnership of a local man, who was raised on a mountain ranch and an outdoorswoman from the United States. I believe this enables us to fully accomdate any guest that travels with us, as Magan can understand the perspective of an outsider, while Boris can relate the culture and andectdotes of growing up in such a remote land.
As Boris was raised in the area, working on ranches, training horses and working as a guide, he is very well known and loved. Because of this, ranchers who have closed their land to other horse riding companies have given us exclusive access. Landowners know that Boris is crossing their ranch and that their land and animals will be respected (ie. No gates left open, animals scared…) Therefore, we can travel through areas that are not well known and are not considered ¨touristy¨, we have a repoir with the local people.
Another advantage of being local is that any revinue generated from our trips is re-circulated into the local economy, used to support local business owners and families.
Being Green
Criollo Expeditions always practices Leave No Trace methods while on camping trips, trying to leave our areas of camping exactly how we found them. We also work on educating the community about trash pick-up, recycling, and caring for the environment, by leading through example, and cleaning our trails and pastures.
The success of our trips is based on three factors
1. The Guides- Our team is friendly, fun and knowledgable. We truly care about our clients. Also, we have a deep passion for Patagonia, the land, the culture the adventure… and this is contagious. Our guides are local and their expertise and enthusiasm are invaluable during excursions
2. The Horses- our horses are very important to us. We understand that clients come from very far away, and spend a lot of money… and they want to ride a good horse. Our horses are very well cared for, and therefore they can perform what is asked of them.
3. Patagonia- come and see for yourself!
In his youth he was Champion Fisherman of Patagonia for many years.
He has a plethora of hidden talents, but most of all, is a brilliant horseman and always a complete gentleman.
Magan Radich is a native of
However, she manages to make time for other activities including; river rafting, mountain biking, backpacking and snowboarding.
Her enthusiasm and positive attitude are infectious whilst on the trail.
Our Horses
We maintain, breed and train a stock of over 20 Criollo and Criollo Mix horses. Some of these horses once ran wild in the Andes Mountains, before we captured and domesticated them.
We have horses suitable for every age and experience level, and enjoy introducing and matching each horse with the perfect rider.
